You are kindly invited to the welcome reception of the APTM 2023 Congress.
The drink will take place in the Faculty Club of the Grand Beguinage in Leuven on Monday 18/09 from 17h00.
Faculty Club receives its guests in a centuries-old historic setting – in the Infirmary of the Grand Beguinage, which dates from the 13th century and was renovated in the 16th and 17th century, or in the Convent of Chièvres, which was built in 1561. That makes it a first-rate location for meetings, functions and gastronomic pleasure.
Since 31 March 2000 the Grand Beguinage has been recognised as UNESCO World Heritage. Faculty Club has the privilege to manage and exploit part of this unique complex, under the watchful eye of the University of Leuven.

Excursion to Bruges & Conference dinner
For centuries the canals of Bruges have linked the city to the sea, a guarantee of wealth and prosperity. International merchants built up Bruges into one of the largest Hanse cities. In the 15th century the city flourished as never before. Large parts of the medieval heritage remained practically intact. Therefore, it is only logical that UNESCO designated the entire city centre as a World Heritage site. Saunter along the enigmatic canals, the arteries of the city, and immerse yourself in Bruges’ Golden Century.
In the heart of the city of Bruges, you can find De Halve Maan Brewery, home of Brugse Zot, Straffe Hendrik and Blanche de Bruges. Visiting the brewery is stepping into the past, learning about Belgian beer and an unforgettable start to your visit to Bruges.
The tour begins in the current brewing hall where “the noble liquid” is brewed. The tour continues over the many floors full of brewing installations that have been used over the pas centuries by this brewing family, which is already in its sixth generation. Once upstairs, you have a unique 360° view of the beautiful city of Bruges. When you hit a few kettles and barrels further down again, you will be rewarded with an unfiltered Brugse Zot Blond, Brugse Zot Dubbel or Straffe Hendrik Tripel.
